Harrold enlisted in the United States Navy in 1956 and was stationed at Great Lakes in Illinois. From there he attended Naval Air School in Norman, OK and Memphis, TN before being stationed at the Miramar Naval Station in San Diego in 1957. He worked as a mechanic for the Naval Air forces.
Harrold served with his three brothers pictured in the photo. Their names are as listed - Jim Harrington, Pat Harrington, Bob Harrington and Harold Harrington.
