VA FRONT LOBBY AND PRIMARY CARE ADDITION

This project involves the addition of a new front lobby and primary care to the Sioux Falls VA Hospital. The project requires a complete new look to the front of the existing hospital which would include a new lobby and primary care addition. The addition must take into consideration a net zero parking loss for the entire campus. The design must plan for future consistent growth for staff and Veteran’s Services.
The plans for the interior and exterior require architecture for a calming environment, with clear views and avoidance of clutter. This aligns with all branches of the military to create a sense of order and uniformity. The addition must pay homage to the original building with respect to the selection of materials to match the exterior brick, limestone and shingle colors.
This is VISN 23’s first new blast-proof design project and PACT model for primary care.
